"Last" fishing village in Singapore

The fishing village just next to Yishun Dam is apparently the "last" fishing village in Singapore. Tucked in a remote corner of Singapore, not easily accessible by public transport, it would have been left unnoticed and possibly in dilapidated state, if not being "uncovered" by diligent photographers scouting various scenic spots in Singapore.

Somehow, being "trapped" in Singapore by COVID pandemic has spurred locals to explore various hidden gems in Singapore.

There is no "official parking lots" at the fishing village. One have to park along Seletar Club Rd adjacet to Rower's Bay Park (exit from Seletar West Link), and then walked across the road leading to Yishun Dam, to reach the fishing village.

The fishing village itself is being fenced off i.e. not accessible to public. But, it can be viewed from a cycling trail running parellel to the village. One can actually descend a gentle slope from the cyling trail, to reach the beach below, to have a closer look at the tress/fishing village.

The cycling trail... you can see people sitting at the gentle slope going down to the beach further up...

And the sceneries ...

View of the fishing village from Yishun Dam...

One way to bypass the fence and get close to the fishing village is to wade through the shallow, muddy shore next to Yishun Dam...

This is worth a thunderous applause

And finally, a close up view of algae tree stump...which resembles that of mounds.

Verdict - don't expect to see a large expanse of beach decorated with fishing boats. But it is a good place for photography. The place carries with it a touch of melancholy (for those who are sentimental). The sunset can be quite exhilarating at times.
