As my wife and I are getting older, we decided it is time to reward ourselves with leisure travel, hopefully on quarterly basis.
Our original plan was to visit Xian/Shanxi/Luoyang in January. But then with Chinese tourists shunning Japan due to recent diplomatic spat between the two countries, we thought it might be a good idea to visit Japan this time (we have not been to Japan for almost 2 years; our recent travels were mostly in China).
East Japan came to our radar. I was worried about driving in thick winter snow in January, then came the news of big earthquake near Aomari about 2 weeks ago....but what the hack, we decided to stick to our original plan anyway.
Travel itinerary planned. Air tickets booked. Hotel booked. Rental car with snow tyres reserved. Now is just waiting for the moment (5 Jan 2026, flying on Zipair to Narita Airport).
原本打算明年一月份游西安，山西，洛阳， 但因为种种原因 (洛阳老君山不允许外国人登山，中日两国吵架导致中国游客陆续取消前往日本度假的行程），最终决定改往日本东北地区去游玩。就在以为已成定局之时，突然传来日本东北发生强力地震的消息。。。信心稍微有些动摇。。。但最终还是勇往直前，把机票，酒店，车都付款预定了！听说那个区域，冬天会有很厚的积雪，希望到时不会碰到困难。
