They had been training hard for the past weeks for the event (rehearsals/previews were done every Saturday x6) prior to the "real" one on National Day itself.
The family members of the participants in the NDP were given free tickets to watch the previews. We had the opportunities of watching the shows twice since each participant was given a pair of tickets (I presumed).
The parade was held in floating stadium at Marina Bay. This is the first time both my wife and I attended any performances in the floating stadium.
As usual, the stadium was painted with seas of red - most participants wore red shirts (a national color) for the event.
Against the backdrop of the iconic Marina Bay Sand building on the left and Merlion on the far right, and the towering blocks of high rise buildings lining the shore, the sight was spectacular.
Tremendous amount of efforts and money were put forward for the show. Many volunteers spent tireless amount of time and sweats, preparing for the show. It was exciting to see children singing and dancing on the stage, the arm forces showing off their various armoured vehicles and versalities in tackling arm threats, the colourful displays on stage, and the firework display in the finale.
However, as parents, our eyes were trained mainly on our children (CK and CJ)!
