It so happened that Wangaratta is a heritage city with many historical sites / buildings. We made a brief dirving tour round the town before departing for the Great Alpine Drive.

On the way to Myrtleford .. |
While cruising on the road to Myrtleford, a signboard by the road side caught my attention : "EMU and DEER FARM". We decided to make a detour (about 3 km drive) along the small paved road, and was pleasantly surprised with what greeted us ....

It was certainly one of the better non-Asian lunches we had tasted so far since embarking on our family trip. We ordered ... what else... emu meat, venison and kangaroo meat ...
This unexpected detour set us back about 2 hours, but it was quite worth the trip.
We tried to visit the Butter shop at Myrtleford, but it was closed on Wednesday. Hence, on we go to Hotham.

Driving up the slope to Hotham |

The space wagon we traveled in ... |

The small town on the way to Bairnsdale.... |
After toilet break in a small town (forgot its name), we continued our journey to Bairnsdale. The scenery was quite nice, and it was a pity that the sky has turned dark after short drive.
We drove past Bairnsdale and pressed on ... finally reaching SALE. We managed to find a room at Sale Motel; Next stop: Wilson Promontory!
|
Finally found a motel to rest overnight and the name of the motel : Sale Motel |
