Reflection of a water-colour painting went awry

Took a snap shot of reflection of our condominium during my routine evening walking exercise.

Quite fascinated with the water-colour like features, with intermixed wavy distortion.

Was it real, or just a dream?

The colours of life

Nature carries with it colours of different shades, vibrances and luminosities. We are so overwhelmed with mundane monotonous colours of green, blue, yellow etc in our daily life that we miss out on the multitiudes of colours that are present in every corner of our neighbourhood.

Monotonous green

While going on my routine walking exercises in nature park, took some photos of the leaves and pebbles along the exercise trail.Even the trees with glittering sunshine look mesmerising!

Nothing depict vigour of life in the neighbourhood than the colourful curtains hanging from the window...

Even the truck ferrying workers around is not spared...

Peeping through the partition from staircase...

Re-development of old Dakota Crescent residential blocks

The old Dakota Crescent residential blocks which have been vacated for several years are finally ready for re-development. The area is finally ear-marked for Build-to-Order housing units. The one-way traffic of Dakota Crescent encirling the old blocks will be closed for traffics in one week's time.

Took a few snap shots of the old residential units before any changes are made.

As shown in the signboard, the T-junction will be converted to a L-shape road from next week onwards.

The elevated ground in front of the old blocks is ear-marked for new housing blocks. It is still not clear if what will be done to the old blocks.

The elevated mound which is being blocked off by fences.

The drain encircling the elevated mound

The rustic look of the old residential units

View of the rest of the residential blocks that are not demolished yet...

It will be interesting to see how the landscape will look like after completion of construction of new residential units in a few years' time.

Terrace Garden @ Teluk Blangah Hill Park

The terrace garden is a favourite spot for wedding photography, instagram shot and of course for TV serials.

A buddhist temple, Hall of Thousand Buddhas, was built there in the mid-to-late nineteen century. It was later demolished in the name of development.

Looking at the old photos of the temple, it was such a pity that the old and arguably iconic landmark had faded into history. Not many people are aware of the historic temple nowadays.

It is now a place for panoramic view of the city, and morning exercises!

Jetty at Labrador Nature Reserve

Ventured out early in the morning to Labrador Nature Reserve.

The vast coastal promenade, which overlooked the wide expanse of sea with port decorated with green "high chairs" (quay cranes) far ahead, was a great "eye opener" on reaching Labrador Nature Reserve. It is pleasantly soothing and relaxing to have an unobstructed view ahead! The coastal navy boats could be seen sailing passed on and off.

We went to explore the part of the coastal walk far away from the Keppel Bay. It was a pleasant surprise to see a jetty jutting further away from the coast. They were quite a number of people fishing there as well!
The view from there was fantastic!

Fishing enthusiasts

All prepared for the day!

Was attracted by "glittering leaves of a tree" when walking back from jetty to coastal promenade. It reminded me of a Christmas tree!

We then went for brisk walk at the boardwalks covering Keppel Bay and Mangrove trees. Took snap shots of "artistic" items along the way.

This is the only plant on the beach, protected by man-made enclosure.

We spent about 1.5 hour for the entire trip, covering about 8000 steps.

Be entertained by some Yoga poses, courtesy from my better half.

Undulating "dragon"

Whether a person walks leisurely or briskly along Hendersson Wave Bridge @ Teluk Blangah Hill Park, on the way to Faber Hill, one will inevitably be impressed by the majestic bridge and its surrounding scenery!

To me, the bridge resembles that of an undulating dragon, carrying people on its back.

The "dorsum" @ hump of the dragon

The "ventral" aspect of the undulating dragon

The view from the bridge is simply superb.

If you are there, don't overlook the adjacent Faber Hill. It is a good place to sweat it out, and enjoy the nature park.

Have a blasted Labour Day Holiday (May 1st)!
