Just came back from a wedding dinner of a colleague's daughter. The dinner was held in a prestigeous hotel in the city area. It was a rather grand event. The food was good, and the company was great. However, the entire ceremony was rather unconventional - there was no Yum-Seng session (the groom is not a Chinese), and the speech given (by the groom, his friend and colleague) was devoted mostly to religious projects/volunterism to help the foreigners to convert to Christianity!
Wedding dinner is an occasion for all friends/relatives of various cultures/religions to share the joyful event. Yes, it is okay to give thanks to almighty God; but way overboard to espouse the cause of one's religion in this occasion.
This is truly a "unconventional" wedding dinner, one that I do not condone...
